Rebuild a nation from the ground up.
Bombed villages. Burned hospitals. Leveled schools. These sights litter the mountainous jungles of Karen State, the southeast region of war-torn Myanmar. For 70 long years, conflict has ravaged the country. After a brief decade of elected civilian rule, the 2021 military coup plunged the nation back into all-out war.
For millions trapped in the conflict, there is great suffering today. But there is also great hope for the future.
At Earth Mission, we see this hope firsthand in the unbreakable spirit of our students and staff. The Karen people do not consider themselves victims. They are resilient and hopeful, anchored in the knowledge of a God who loves them.
So when the time comes to rebuild, who will the Karen look to? Humanitarian aid? Unlikely. With your help, it will be our Engineering Tech graduates.
The Engineering Tech program is cultivating the natural problem-solving abilities of Karen youth. Raised in jungle villages, refugee camps, or on the run, they already know how to be scrappy with what they have. They’re not afraid to build today despite the uncertainty of tomorrow. Most students only received education up to eighth grade. Now, they get to hone the skills and knowledge to think bigger for the sake of their communities. The 3-year collegiate-level program trains students in physics, mathematics, electricity, renewable energy, equipment repair, vehicle repair, logistics, welding, construction, leadership, and project management—all in the context of their resource-limited environment.
They're learning what it takes to create lasting solutions to the real-world problems their people face.
Whether it’s rebuilding hospitals or homes, schools or roads, power grids or supply chains, you play a critical role in laying the bedrock of a nation’s new future. Through your support, the next generation of problem solvers is being equipped to build back stronger.
Thank you for giving today.
